The Statutory Consultant will play a critical role with coordination, advisement and handling administrative tasks related to Paid Family Leave and other Statutory benefits that Sun Life offers. This position will communicate directly with the individual state agencies to file the private insurance plans, consult with internal business partners, support the annual statutory updates and be a participant in any new product launches. Aligned with Sun Life's goal to build the best benefits company in America strategy, the Statutory Consultant focuses on results, service, culture, growth and most importantly, the client.

**How you will contribute**:

- Work with the state of New Jersey to vet and file the statutory disability policies.
- Utilize the New York State website to file all NY coverages on policy holders and affiliated subsidiaries with DBL and NYPFL coverage.
- File necessary paperwork with the state of Hawaii on all TDI plans.
- Act as the liaison between the business and the state on a policy level
- Organize requirements of annual updates and track completion
- Participate in discussions on new product launches and identify needs of business areas.

**What you will bring with you**:

- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize fluctuating work volumes and competing demands.
- Ability to prioritize client needs.
- Knowledgeable, service oriented, professional approach
- Ability to Influence the horizontal process and influence the owners of each part of the process.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and high energy and enthusiasm
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

- Southern California region: $55,200 - $82,800 annually.
- Central California region: $58.200 - $87,300 annually
- Northern California region: $62,200 - $93,300 annually

If you are a Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $52,600 - $78,900 annually.

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $55,200 - $82,800 annually.

If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $58,200 - $87,300 annually.

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $62,200 - $93,300 annually.

We consider various factors in determining actual pay including your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for incentive awards based on individual and business performance as well as a broad range of competitive benefits.
