Salary_**: $4384 per month, plus benefits and incentives.

Duties_**: The Ridgecrest Police Department provides a wide range of professional law enforcement functions to the community. Assignments may include; criminal investigation, community relations, uniformed patrol, traffic enforcement, narcotic investigations, K-9 Unit, or any other duties expected of an experienced police officer.

Minimum_**

**_ Requirements_**:Age**: Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

**Education**: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

**Fitness**: Vision must be correctable to 20/30
- Applicant must pass a P.O.S.T. approved medical and psychological exam.

Benefits_**: The City of Ridgecrest provides employee a tiered cafeteria plan with a minimum of $890.00 per month to purchase medical and dental benefits. A tuition reimbursement plan is available, as is incentive pay from 5% to 17.5% for certain P.O.S.T. certificates or academic degrees held or obtained while employed by the City of Ridgecrest. New employees earn a minimum of 80 hours vacation, 104 hours of sick and 11 regular holidays plus 48 hours of floating holiday annually. Police Officer Trainee receives $750.00 initial uniform allowance to increase upon Police Officer swear-in; a City paid Life Insurance equal to one times annual salary; and other bonus pays as negotiated by the Police Employee Association of Ridgecrest (PEAR).
