**Resident Assistant at American House, St. Petersburg**

Resident Assistants play a crucial role in our wellness team, assisting residents at a facility to maintain their independence and psychosocial health. They work under the guidance of RNs or LPNs to provide personal care and ensure safety.

**Youre responsibilities will include**:
**Personal Assistance**: Help residents with daily activities such as ambulation, hygiene, feeding, and incontinence care.

**Companionship**: Establish trusting relationships through personal interaction and activities.

Safety and Observation: Adhere to safety protocols and report any resident changes to the Wellness Director.

**Housekeeping**: Manage meal services, room cleanliness, and resident laundry.

**Communication**: Interact positively with residents' families and respond to emergencies promptly.

**Documentation**: Complete necessary paperwork and attend required training sessions to comply with regulations.

**Required Skills/Abilities**
**Communication**: Clear and effective communication with residents and staff.

**Physical Capability**: Able to lift 40 pounds and respond quickly in emergencies.

**Safety**: Maintain a safe environment for all.

**Preferred Skills/Abilities**
**Experience**: Prior work with seniors, particularly in Assisted Living or Memory Care.

**Certification**: CNA certification is beneficial.

**Education and Requirements**
**General**: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum age of 18.

**Health and Safety**: Must pass a background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical exam.
