The Dryer Supervisor oversees the operations of the drying process, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards. This role involves supervising the dryer workforce, managing maintenance, and fostering positive relationships with employees and members.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:_

- Communicate effectively with members and respond to their requests for information in a timely manner.
- Supervise the dryer workforce to maximize labor efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and personnel practices.
- Ensure adherence to company work rules through timely and appropriate use of disciplinary procedures.
- Work toward constant improvement in safe work practices and complete and maintain current job safety analysis.
- Maintain positive employee/supervisor relationships and support the company’s EEO commitment as an integral part of employee management.
- Direct the maintenance of dryer buildings and equipment to achieve maximum operational efficiency.
- Develop and monitor the dryer operations budget and maintain effective control over variable costs.
- Manage all fruit receipts and shipments in an orderly and fair manner.
- Promote and support good cultural practices along with new, proven techniques.
- Inform management of current field activities and conditions consistently and timely.
- Represents Sunsweet Growers and/or Sunsweet Dryers in a positive, enthusiastic manner.
- Presents a professional image to members and non-members of Sunsweet.
- Communicates and cooperates with other managers, field representatives and management persons of both Sunsweet Growers and Sunsweet Dryers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills:

- Strong understanding of dryer operations and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with members and employees.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.

Ability to:

- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to member requests and provide accurate information.
- Manage variable costs and maintain operational efficiency.

Education and Experience:

- Previous experience (3-5 years) in a supervisory role within an industrial or agricultural setting.
- Proven track record of effective team management and operational oversight.

Physical/Safety Requirements:

- Tolerate extended periods of standing or walking.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Adherence to all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment as required.
