As a Forklift Operator at Sutton Transport, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our dock facility. Your main responsibility is to load and unload trailers on the dock, with 95% of the time spent on the forklift. This is a cross dock environment and you will be working with a team of other operators.

**Work Schedule**:

- **Tuesday-Saturday, 1:00AM start**:

- Full time: 40/hr week

**Responsibilities**
- **Safe Forklift Operation**: Operate sit down safely and efficiently to move, stack, and load/unload materials, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- **Inventory Management**: Keep accurate records of materials and products handled, making note of quantities, locations, and any damages or discrepancies.
- **Loading and Unloading**: Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets with precision, ensuring that goods are properly secured to prevent damage during transportation.
- **Dock Management**: Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the dock area, including removing debris and obstructions, and ensuring clear pathways for equipment and personnel.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect inbound and outbound shipments for any visible damage, report discrepancies, and work with the team to resolve issues.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations and participate in safety training.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts, report any defects or issues, and help with recharging batteries or changing propane tanks.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year experience operating a forklift.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
