**Title: Purchasing Assistant**

**FLSA: Full Time Non-Exempt**

**Work Location: In Office**

**NOTE**: This position reports to the Purchasing Manager and does not supervise others.

**SUMMARY**:The Purchasing Assistant will provide critical support to product buyers by processing purchase orders, managing supplier communication, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist buyers in creating and processing purchase orders using our internal AS400-based inventory management system.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to purchase orders and supplier communication.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- High school diploma required. Associates degree in business or accounting preferred.
- 2 years of administrative experience preferred.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and any other required drug test.
- Maintain an acceptable level of attendance.

**REQUIREMENTS OF WORK**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Familiarity w/ AS400 is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- A willingness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with the automotive parts industry a plus.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT**:

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted or greater than 50 lbs with assistance;
- Work environment involves mínimal exposure to physical risks, such as proximity to office equipment and household type chemicals;
- Able to properly utilize office equipment such as computer, phone, fax, copier, scanner, etc.;
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally climb/descend stairs;
- Occasionally walk, stand, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, push, pull, crouch, squat, bend, twist, stoop, climb, balance, talk, speak, and hear;
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
- Must have considerable mobility;
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with general public, to respond to others, and to make entries on reports, logs, and records;
Follow all company policies/rules including safe driving policies and procedures and report any and all accidents / injuries immediately to management.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
