General Summary
The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
**Customer Service**: Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by
mystery shop standards
Greet customers as they enter the store and thank them as they leave. Address customer by name when
possible. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
Ensure phone calls and in-store paging is answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers. Address customer complaints in a positive manner. Document
complaints for follow up by Store Manager when necessary.
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements. As well as adhere to any program or promotion that
may require implementation at the cash register. Attend cashier and store meetings. Participate in store
initiatives, contests and team-building activities.
Accurately and efficiently process transactions and maintain all cash at registers. Correctly handle money, checks
and other types of payment received for products sold including processing refunds and/or issuing store credit
to customers for returned merchandise
Verify the accuracy of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, and immediately notify your
manager on duty of any inaccuracies.
Maintain orderly appearance of registers including the front door area. Keep the entrance area at the front of
the store clean at all times which includes dusting and vacuuming. Ensure all register supplies are stocked.
Assist with keeping impulse items stocked and arranged neatly as well as rotate new merchandise as needed.
Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
Cleaning of counter surfaces, store equipment, restrooms and floors.
Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of
the business in a fast paced and busy environment.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Associates must be able to bend, stoop, climb and lift items over 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for
extended periods of time.
Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, climbing ladders
and perform all functions as set forth.
