A state-of-the-art Facial Cosmetic surgery practice is seeking for a part time Operating Room Registered Nurse performs nursing care for patients across the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative period from admission to discharge.
**Please note, this is a part time position starting with once or twice a week on either Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays.**
- **Responsibilities**:
- Verification of the patient’s pre-operative vital signs and general conditions.
- Verification of the operative procedure, site, surgeon, and anesthesiologist.
- Follows the standards of care for pre-op and post-op nursing care, along with preferences of surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
- Placement and removal of **IV lines and urinary catheter**.
- Maintain all checks and log forms up to date according to facility policy.
- Assist, as requested, in conducting count of controlled substances consistent with policy
- Perform pre-operative preparation in accordance with standing policy.
- Transport patient from pre-operative area to OR/Procedure Room after positively identifying patient by querying patient. Compare signed consent to the scheduled procedure. Confirm procedure with patient.
- Assist patient onto table to be used during procedure. Secure patient safety strap, if needed.
- Perform skin prep as ordered by physician performing the procedure.
- Provide assistance as possible to the surgeon and anesthesiologist during procedure as requested, appropriate and within the scope of licensure.
**Educational Requirements**:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN with active license in California.
- Critical care or PACU experience
**License/Certification**:
- ACLS and BLS Certification
- RN
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $52.00 - $55.00 per hour
