**JOB SUMMARY**: Adeline Montessori School is seeking a Finance Manager for the 2024-2025 school year. The Finance Manager will be responsible for the fiscal operations of the school, including overseeing insurance programs, budget development, accounts receivable and accounts payable, purchasing, grant management, and other duties typically associated with a public school office. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Head of School, the Board of Directors, and the Operations Manager.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

- Ensure all financial transactions are documented and balanced within finance software and reconcile all accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate and serve as the primary point person for the annual external audit of all financial transactions.
- Submit final budgets and annual reports to the Board of Directors and DPI.
- Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate internal processes to ensure a balanced budget and ethical practices are followed throughout the system to ensure district funds are safeguarded, and accurate financial reports are available.
- Meet monthly with the Board of Directors to review reports for informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing school districts.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Manage other projects and tasks as directed by the Head of School or Board of Directors.
- Assist with grant writing and develop processes to align the financial reporting with grant requirements.
- Balance incoming grant money with school expenses.
- Manage short-term cash shortages and short-term loans to ensure ongoing school system operations.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all aspects of accounting procedures using accepted computer systems.
- Ability to demonstrate good sound judgment and perform well under pressure and multiple timelines.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others within the office, across departments, and with external agencies to complete tasks, resolve challenges, and prevent disruption to school financial processes.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize workload to meet fixed deadlines.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting processes, and school operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing school districts.
