**Summary**:
The Court Clerk provides clerical and support services to the courts and judges.

**_Criminal background check is required._**

**Essential Duties**:

- Attend hearings and provide the court with all required files and paperwork related to the designated case.
- Attend jury trials, non-jury trials, and suppression hearings.
- Pull files for judges' cases and take to courtroom at appointed time.
- Swear-in the panel and jury.
- Swear-in all witnesses and list by name.
- Maintain a list of all exhibits admitted by the judge and assume responsibility for the exhibits.
- At conclusion of trial, return all files to Prothonotary.
- Oversee ARD, drug court and miscellaneous petitions.
- In the absence of the Clerk of Court, will need to assume clerk's duties.
- Will occasionally need to share Tipstaff's duties.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

**Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience**:
**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Six months to one year of job-related experience and/or training.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and skill with modern office equipment (fax, copier, calculator, etc.).
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Ability to establish priorities and carry tasks to completion.
- Flexibility.
- Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives.
- Proactive.

**Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience**:

- One to two years of court or criminal justice experience.
- Strong customer service experience and/or skills.
- Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
- Strong time management skills.
- Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of county management.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgement.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong work ethic.

**Relevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.
