Part-time Groundskeeper

We are seeking a reliable and motivated part-time groundskeeper to maintain the appearance and health of our property's landscaping. The property is approximately 80 acres, so maintaining the property will most likely not all be completed in a given week's hours.

The primary responsibility this season will be mowing the lawn, with the opportunity to assist with buckthorn removal if time allows. This position has the potential to transition into a full-time role next year if performance is satisfactory.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Lawn Care**:

- Mow the lawn and trails at least once every two weeks
- Monitor lawn health, identifying and addressing any issues (e.g., weeds, pests, diseases).
- **Buckthorn Removal (as time permits)**:

- Assist with the removal of invasive buckthorn plants.
- Properly dispose of cut buckthorn material.
- **General Grounds Maintenance**:

- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the grounds.
- Report any maintenance issues or concerns promptly.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience operating lawn mowers and other landscaping equipment.
- Basic knowledge of lawn care and maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Has liability insurance

**Additional Information**:

- **Equipment**:No equipment required. We have a brand new Toro Commercial Zero Turn mower and will purchase other required equipment as needed.
- **Schedule**: Flexible hours, primarily weekdays.
- **Compensation**: Competitive hourly rate.
- **Contractor**:This is a contract role, so you will not have taxes taken out, but we will require you to maintain liability insurance (typically costs $100-200 per year).

This part-time position has the potential to evolve into a full-time role next year, with expanded responsibilities encompassing a wider range of landscaping duties.
