Assistant Store Manager

**Summary/Objective**

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in supervising a Goodwill retail store. The Assistant Store Manager sets an example for retail personnel, ensures delivery of excellent customer service, and is the acting supervisor in the absence of the Store Manager. This position is responsible for proper handling of all donated or new goods and ensuring all staff are following proper procedure in doing same. The Assistant Store Manager must possess the maturity to guide and motivate the team to reach production goals, as well as the ability to coach and train as required. The Assistant Store Manager drives production, product flow and appropriate merchandising in order to meet sales goals.

**Essential Functions**

- Assist Store Manager/Store Supervisor with supervision of retail operations, including, but not limited to, daily inspection, delegation of tasks, scheduling, opening and closing the retail store, proper cash reporting and daily bank deposits.
- Audit produced merchandise for quality, continuity and sales appeal, as well as appropriately merchandising product for utmost shopping appeal.
- Act safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations, and report all safety and maintenance issues to the Store Supervisor/Store Manager.
- Train new employees, as well as coach, motivate, assist and share knowledge with other employees as needed.
- Use good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness and thoughtfulness.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure production goals are met and product flows adequately.
- Responsible for cleanliness and organization in the retail store and production areas.
- Works closely with Store Supervisor/Store Manager to resolve production, personnel or other store issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel**

This is a full-time position working a retail schedule and frequent weekend work is required.
