**Job Summary**

The Forklifts Operator is responsible for safely operating forklift while performing warehouse and material handling duties.

**Responsibilities**:

- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
- Positions lifting forks device under loaded pallets, skids and transports load to designated area
- Maintains material in an efficient and orderly manner, by size and grade for easy retrieval
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
- Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed
- Inspect material for damage or shortages and report to Supervisor
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device
- Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

**Qualifications**
- Valid active forklift certification
- Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees, and read and understand safety rules, operation, maintenance, and procedure manuals and documents
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience
- Two year technical degree or equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience in related field
- Certified Forklift Operator
- Ability to read and understand work orders and written instructions
- Ability to utilize measuring devices such as rulers, tapes and calipers
- Ability to utilize computer to check stock and print tags
- Product knowledge
- Be able to use banding equipment
