Title

IT Apprentice

Under general supervision and in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines established within the organization and department works to meet department goals. The IT Apprentice will be assigned selected work experiences and is accountable, under the direction of the Preceptor or IT Manager for setting priorities, meeting deadlines, completing assigned tasks, and promoting the achievement of project outcomes. Productivity and accuracy will be closely monitored. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products preferred.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.

The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
- Responds to requests to assist users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, smartphones, and other computer-related technologies.
- Interviews users to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
- Determines whether problems are caused by hardware or software related issues.
- Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for user problems, referring more complex problems to analysts or senior analysts.
- Must be able to work scheduled hours as assigned for appropriate service desk hour coverage with some flexibility as needed including some weekend work responsibilities.
- Perform all duties in a professional and confidential manner.
