Warehouse Receiver

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The Receiver position is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate receipt of produce and miscellaneous items ordered and placed in specified areas of the warehouse. Receiver must follow proper procedures for receiving all products entering the facility including verifying actual product against bill of lading, confirming product quality, and checking product temperatures as needed. Position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock, trash areas and other areas of warehouse. Receiver will work in and out of cold environment and safely operate machinery including baler, trash compactor, truck (for occasional pick-up), and forklift.

- Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Practice good housekeeping by maintaining work area organized, sanitary and clear of safety hazards Strictly follow company produce handling procedures Assist with new employee training
- Perform equipment safety inspections and report unsafe equipment or other workplace hazards to supervisor
- Check shipments for arrival condition of produce and packaging
- Verify that quantities on Purchase Order match invoice and bill of lading (BOL)
- Complete receiving document(s) as each shipment is received
- Fill out labels or hold tags as necessary
- Notify QC Supervisor & Buyer of any quality or quantity issues/comments related to shipment
- Place shipment in designated cooler or warehouse location
- Rotate and organize inventory per company procedures
- Check quality & quantity of stock on hand
- Reorganize inventory as needed
- Walk coolers and identify product that needs to be stocked-up
- Clean product space before stocking new item
- Print and label product with barcodes
- Operate barcode scanner
- Maintain inventory management system

**Schedule**: Swing Shift (start time 11 am)

**Pay Scale**: $18.50- $20.50

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

This position works in a warehouse setting. This role routinely works with or within close proximity to standard warehouse equipment such as hand-trucks, pallet-jacks and fork-lifts. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee works alone or in a team for long periods of time.
