Quality Control Technician

Midwest Pipe Coating, Inc., is a family-owned applicator of powder and liquid coatings that has been in business since 1965.

We have an immediate opening for an entry level Quality Control Technician. Our Quality Control Technicians assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing established manufacturing procedures (MPS) specifications; validating processes; and providing documentation. The typical schedule for this shift is days, but may vary based on business demand.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Inspect all received materials to ensure adherence to company quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and clean all equipment in the testing area.
- Adhere to quality assurance testing protocols and standards set by industry leaders.
- Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing audits, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems.
- Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification.
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; and training methods.
- Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, and corrective actions.
- Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Other duties as assigned

- Prior experience in process improvement and analyzing information is a plus.
- 2 years’ related experience preferred.
- NACE certification (any level) highly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to understand and execute actions based on verbal and visual instructions.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds
- Must be able to bend and walk continuously throughout the shift
- Tolerant of exposure to typical noises and smells associated with an industrial plant
- Perform repetitive motions for the duration of the shift
- Manual dexterity to operate a variety of machinery and equipment
- Able to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
