SALARY: $18.25 - $20.23 (Based on 2022-2025 UPSEU Contract)

The Hebron Board of Education has anticipated multiple Preschool Paraeducator openings at Gilead Hill School, for the 2024-2025 school year.

**Position Summary**:
**Supervisor/Evaluation**:Receives general supervision and performance evaluation from Principal and/or Dean of Students with significant input from teachers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work with children individually and in small groups to reinforce basic skills and to check their use of instructional materials under the supervision of the teacher.
- As assigned, support implementation of students’ Individual Education Program goals and objectives under the supervision of the responsible certified special education staff.
- As assigned, support implementation of students’ behavior management plans under the supervision of the responsible certified special education staff.
- Assist the teacher in the development and construction of materials to be used as reinforcement activities.
- Help to prepare the room, materials, and equipment for daily use.
- Provide routine non-teaching classroom procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service programs as requested by the principal, dean of students, or teacher.
- Provide supervision for non-classroom activities as directed by the principal and dean of students (bus arrival/departure, lunch room, and playground).
- Plan with the teacher the execution of follow-up activities to reinforce initial instruction provided by the teacher.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community, following and upholding school rules and standards.
- Safely supervise students in both instructional and assessment activities in and out of the classroom.

**Skills**:

- Effective communication skills; oral, written and visual with adults and children
- Understanding of basic principles of childhood development
- Familiarity with educational software or willingness to learn

**Qualifications**:

- Associates Degree, 2 years of higher education, or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
- Prior experience working with students strongly desired
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred but not required

**Physical Requirements**:
Other requirements include but are not limited to: reaching, some lifting, standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and/or crawling.
