We are currently seeking Archaeological Technicians for upcoming survey and excavation projects throughout California and Nevada this Winter/Spring 2024 for temporary, seasonal, part-time, and on-call schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in anthropology/archaeology (or a related field).
- A field school or commensurate California or Nevada CRM field experience (e.g., survey, precontact and historic-era site identification/documentation/data collection, excavation, and familiarity with standard electronic devices and hand-held tools).
- Detail-oriented, able to adapt to varying data collection needs, attention to field methods/pace, and effective in verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to learn/refine new skills on-the-job.
- Ability to collaboratively interact with clients, Native American representatives, and co-workers.
- Can comply with Far Western’s Safety Program and other Far Western training and operations protocols.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
- Current First Aid/CPR training/certifications.
- Basic compass, map, GPS navigation skills.
- Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions and different types of environments.
- Ability to hike up to ten miles a day for up to 10 consecutive days in rugged terrain and variable weather.
- Willingness and ability to camp overnight in remote locations, as needed.
- Has a current driver's license and can operate a 4WD vehicle in varying terrain.
