Business hours are 7:45AM-5PM Monday thru Thursday (with 1-hour lunches) and 7:45AM-12PM on Fridays.
As a dental office receptionist, you'll ensure excellent customer service and keep our patient flow running smoothly—from taking and making phone calls to maintaining our schedule, and checking our patients in and out and everything in between. Your starting rate will vary based on experience and skillset, but there will be opportunities for bonuses and performance-based pay increases. Employees are hired on a 90-day probationary period, after which we will re-asses wages and responsibilities based on performance and aptitude.
**Basic Responsibilities**
- Welcoming patients into our office and getting them checked in
- Routing patients' questions accordingly
- Collecting payment for services rendered
**Basic Skills/Knowledge**
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Accurate typing skills and computer operation knowledge including word processing and spreadsheets
- Communication and people skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and time management
- Well-organized and reliable
**Advanced Responsibilities**
- Entering, verifying, and maintaining accurate patient records including dental benefit information
- Ensuring accurate use of CDT codes when checking patients out for services provided
- Answering patients' questions or routing them accordingly when beyond the limits of knowledge (specific medical questions, for example)
- Keeping the schedule productive yet manageable for clinical staff
- Explaining payment procedures and financing options to patients
**Advanced Skills/Knowledge**
- Proven experience with Current Dental Terminology (1 year+)
- Associates+ in applicable field(s) preferred but not required
- EagleSoft experience a plus
- Bilingual/multilingual a plus
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-9/10, and HCPCS level II a plus but not required
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
