Job Summary: The Barista Coach will provide vocational training and support to adults with developmental disabilities, helping them acquire the skills needed to work as baristas in a café setting. This role involves hands-on training in coffee preparation, customer service, and general café operations, while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive barista training, including coffee brewing, espresso machine operation, drink preparation, and food safety.
- Teach and reinforce customer service skills, such as taking orders, handling payments, and interacting with customers.
- Assist in developing individualized training plans that cater to the unique needs and learning styles of each trainee.
- Offer continuous support, guidance, and feedback to trainees to build their confidence and skills.
- Oversee the daily operations of the café, ensuring a smooth workflow and a clean, organized environment.
- Monitor the quality of beverages and food items to ensure they meet the café’s standards.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of trainees’ progress and performance.
- Prepare regular reports for the Cafe Manager on trainees’ development and any challenges encountered.
- Collaborate with other staff members to adjust training methods and approaches as needed.
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages community interaction and engagement.
- Organize and participate in events that promote the café and its mission.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in barista skills or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role required.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and café operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude towards trainees.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Capability to lift and carry supplies and equipment, up to 30 pounds.
- This position involves working in a café environment, which may include exposure to heat, noise, and various food and beverage odors.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
