Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:
As a medical collections specialist you are responsible for collecting outstanding payments for surgical services rendered. In this role, you review billing information, debt, and unpaid insurance claims. You contact the insurance companies and/or patients with outstanding bills.
Your duties can vary depending on the situation, the amount owed, and the nature of the debt. Typically, collections specialists try to get full repayment. Your responsibilities can also involve helping the debtor set up a payment plan so that they can manage repayment.

- Collaborate with medical billers to resolve any coding discrepancies or issues
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and appeal when necessary
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities
**Skills**:
- Familiarity with medical office operations and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
