**Job Location**—Broken Yolk Cafe (BYC).

**Classification**—Nonexempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

**Salary level**—Hourly.

**Reports to**— MOC Restaurants II, LLC., (BYC) Supervisors and Managers

**Summary/objective**—

As a Host, your primary objective is to create a welcoming and organized environment for all guests from the moment they enter the restaurant. You will manage reservations, seating arrangements, and maintain a smooth flow of guests to ensure an exceptional dining experience. Your responsibilities include greeting guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, managing wait times efficiently, and coordinating with the service team to meet guest needs promptly. A successful Host demonstrates excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to hospitality. Your role is pivotal in setting the tone for the guests' dining experience and ensuring their visit begins on a positive note.

**Essential functions**—
- Guest service and guest engagement:

- Positive, energetic & friendly personality utilizing all company established standards.
- Guest personality engagement smiling with your eyes.
- Informing management of any and all concerns with guests or situations creating barriers to guest engage and great service.
- Greeting guest as they enter meeting all guest engagement standards.
- Greeting/acknowledging quests while multi-tasking.
- Collecting names, party size and relevant information (guest requests) to properly seat guest.
- Salutation of departing guests meeting all guest engagement standards.
- Floor mapping and service table sections flow organization.
- Follow flow of rotation seating to multiple service sections.
- Establishing waitlist as needed and estimating accurate wait times.
- Answering of phones following brand standards answering all guests’ questions or having management assist when needed.
- Expeditor of Food (takeout/3rd party orders):

- Collecting/assembly or verifying of food & beverage orders to ensure guest receives correct order.
- Following and in-compliance with all Food Safety practices.
- Following and in-compliance with all Personal Hygiene and food safety hygiene practices.
- Includes adhering to all established company uniform standards.
- Proficient at Point of Sales (POS) system to complete quest orders.
- Phone orders entered into POS
- Closing out orders with cash, credit cards and App payments.
- Following all cash handling SOPs.
- Ensuring accuracy for all transactions including counting back change with cash transactions.
- Menu knowledge
- Menu knowledge to understand POS substitutions.
- Menu and POS knowledge to ensure accuracy.
- Engaging with guest to repeat orders.
- Upselling & suggestive sales of food and beverage.
- Following specific Steps of Service.
- Use of walkie talkies, automated devices and technology tools to assist in the guest seating process.
- Stocking stations, surrounding areas, restrooms, point of sale materials and take out supplies.
- Cleaning inside; general area including windows, window frames, doors and lobby seating area, chairs/booth, floors, sweeping entire area and spot sweeping, mopping entire area and spot mopping when spills occur.
- Cleaning outside; front walkway/entrance; sweeping entire area and spot sweeping, spot mopping when spills occur.
- Cleaning Restrooms; trash/refuge removal, stocking and cleaning.
- Hourly checklist completion of duties.
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all cleaning and trash removal.
- Use of rubber gloves or disposable gloves is required when cleaning and/or trash collection.
- Disposable gloves must be discarded after each use.
- Wash hands thoroughly prior to returning to your workstation or other task.
- Rubber gloves must be washed with soap and water after each use and allowed to air dry.
- Wash hands thoroughly prior to returning to your workstation or other task.
- Conduct opening duties to prepare station for guests, (shift readiness).
- Midday/Side work duties mentioned above to maintain station and lobby/entrance area appearance and sanitation standards.
- Includes rolling silver sets and other duties assigned by management team.
- Closing duties to prepare station and assigned lobby/entrance area for next day.
- Informing management of any and all concerns with guests or situations creating barriers to guest engage and great service.
- Report workplace injuries as soon as reasonably responsible, but in no event later than leaving the workplace or within 8 hours.
