The Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of Business Management, Bureau of Business Services' Fleet Unit is hiring for a full-time permanent **Fleet Operations Specialist** position located at the Hill Farms State Office building in Madison with occasional travel frequently to other locations including the DOT Truax Madison facility.

In this role, you will work with a small team which manages, tracks and maintains a fleet of approximately 1350 vehicles for state employee use including motorcycles, sedans, pickup trucks, vans, bucket trucks and other heavy equipment.

**Position Summary**:
The position will focus on providing safe and effective vehicles for all fleet customers, including managing vehicle procurement, vehicle disposal and vehicle maintenance programs. The incumbent will also provide guidance in development of bid specifications and documentation for all ordered vehicles, evaluate bids and make purchase recommendations, coordinate division annual request for vehicles, and evaluate equipment needs and make recommendations.

**Salary Information**:
This position is in schedule-range (07-04) with an **hourly salary of $25.50 - $30.60, plus excellent benefits**. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

**Job Details**:
**The incumbent must have knowledge and ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles on a daily basis. Vehicles will be driven intrastate and will not cross state lines.**

**This position will occasionally travel to other locations for work purposes.**

**This position will be tasked with climbing in and out of, under and on equipment, working in varied weather conditions and climate differences on a daily basis.**

**Qualifications**:

- Program management of fleet services operations such as procurement, disposal and/or maintenance of vehicles
- Providing customer service to customers/clients (e.g. in-person, electronic, and/or phone communication etc.)
- Developing vehicle specifications
- Developing an annual project plan for vehicle acquisitions/disposals
- Managing vehicle equipment upfits
- Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement
