Food Service Aide

Alaris Health at Belgrov, a 120 bed-skilled nursing Center in Kearny, New Jersey, seeks a food service aide to perform a variety of food service functions and maintain clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. Additional responsibilities include:

- assisting in identified aspects of food preparation
- handling food and equipment responsibly according to sanitation policies and procedures
- delivering food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas as instructed by supervisor
- providing an enhanced dining service, serving meals in dining rooms and preparing and delivering snacks as directed
- assisting in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures
- and above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Full command of the English language
- Previous food service aide experience is helpful
- Possess working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food and sanitation practices relating to food handling
- Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner
- Possess the ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public
