Gas Standards Technician

Job Description: Gas Standards Technician
Location: Pasadena, Texas
Other duties include performing routine maintenance and calibration of filling equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. Testing and recertification of dilution systems. Troubleshoot and address any issues related to gas handling or equipment performance. Collaborate with colleagues in the laboratory, production, and quality control departments to coordinate filling schedules, prioritize tasks, and address any operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in a related field required
- Previous experience in gas handling, laboratory operations, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and protocols.
- Knowledge of strict safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous gases.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations, dilution calculations, and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move gas cylinders that may weigh up to 50 pounds as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Any experience in analytical chemistry, gas chromatography or other analytical instrumentation, with chromatography data systems, or basic laboratory procedures would be a plus.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA) governing the handling of hazardous materials.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and repair would be a plus.

Additional Requirements:
- Must have clean driving record for insurance purposes
- Drug testing is required for all applicants.
- Background checks are required.
Benefits include company paid health, life, dental, vision and disability insurance coverage as well as 401(k) after first year of employment. An automobile allowance is provided for company use of personal vehicle. Employees will receive company cell phone and other equipment necessary for work required.
Compensation: Salary, non-exempt, this is an entry level position with salary starting at $40,000 - $45,000 per year commensurate with education and experience.
