**Sisters of the Holy Cross, Inc., located on the beautiful Saint Mary’s College campus in Notre Dame, IN has a newly created **Life Enrichment Companion PRN position available.**

Main Function: To accompany sisters on activities outings and assist the sisters in and out of vehicle.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
**Companion**
- Accompanies sisters on activities outings. Helps sisters with walkers, pushing wheelchairs, and assists sisters in and out of vehicles.
- Provides overall companionship to sisters throughout the activity.

**Teamwork**
- Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and in daily work assignments to meet the sisters’ changing needs.
- Assists all staff and/or all Sisters as the need arises. May assist in transferring Sisters, which requires lifting up to 50 pounds.

**Other**
- Maintains confidentiality and supports the Sisters’ worth and dignity.
- Promotes favorable public relations.
- Follows established dress code.
- Maintains attendance and observes working hours, starting time, lunch period, breaks, quitting time, etc.
- Complies with work rules, regulations, and instructions, follows established systems and procedures, and completes assignments with mínimal supervision.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**

High school diploma or GED required.

**Experience**

Preferred experience working with the geriatric population and knowledge of life enrichment activities.

**Responsibility**

Normally is given scope of task to be completed and allowed to take necessary steps to achieve desired result upon supervisory approval.

**Problem-Solving**

Routine, repetitive work, detailed instruction under close supervision. Solutions to problems require standard or routine thought processes, which are learned by repetitive job tasks.

**Personal Interaction**

Requires communication within and outside the organization. Work requires routine, casual interaction, requiring accepted politeness and courtesy.

**Work Environment**

Works both indoors and outdoors.

**Equipment Utilization**

***Familiarity with use of wheelchairs and walkers.

Ordinary care and caution must be exercised while performing work activities. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
