Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Francisco’s Mission District. Its mission is to help immigrant families access needed services, develop self-sufficiency, and participate fully as members of the community. Our staff is a diverse and talented team willing to take different and unique approaches to help children, youth and families thrive and succeed.
**Program Summary**
Good Samaritan operates two, State-licensed Child Development Centers that provide, full-day preschool program for children 2 ½ to 5 years of age. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our philosophy is child-centered, rather than adult directed. The dual-language (Spanish/English) program curriculum is realized through structuring the environment into interest areas, planning of program activities to meet each child’s individual needs, and provide the opportunity for active participation rather than passive observation. Children participate in developmentally appropriate activities that are designed to develop their social skills, enhance their fine and gross motor sills, encourage creative learning, cognitive development, and teach pre-literacy and skills.
**Position Summary**

- Provide leadership and vision for the preschool teachers to assure program quality, kindergarten readiness and student success.
- Evaluate all aspects of the preschool, including program design, student assessments, and program goals.

- Create a system of regular communications with parents/guardians, including but not limited to formal/informal meetings on student progress, enrollment status, newsletters, calendars, and memos.
- Ensure program activities reflect best practices in child development and implement changes that will allow Good Samaritan to remain both an innovative and model preschool.
- Ensure the preschool provides inclusive, developmentally, and culturally appropriate learning experiences and activities.
- Co-facilitate and advise parent involvement including outreach, leadership development, scheduling meetings, and assisting parents in the planning and implementation of activities.

- In collaboration with SFELA, oversee enrollment, conduct tours, and register children.
- Attend collaborative meetings, represent Good Samaritan in the area of early childhood education, and keep the Executive Director updated on developments in the field.
Professional Performance Standards:
