1st Shift Mold Line Operator

Description:
**Job Purpose**:
To operate mold line equipment and facilitate the placing of vinyl molds around the steel handles of a variety of manufactured tools.

**Essential Functions**:

- Operate and maintain the proper oven temperature and conveyor speed during the time which molds/tools are passing through the oven.
- Assemble tools into the molds; fill and cap tools and place onto the conveyor; after mold passes through oven, disassemble mold, place tool onto cart, clean mold, and place mold into position for repeat of operation. This process is working as a team.
- Transports tools to and from specific production areas.
- Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education/Experience**:

- One to three months of related experience or on-the-job training.

**Physical**:

- Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day.
- Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must have good peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus on work.
- Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high noise levels, vibration to hands, and extreme heat.
- Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.

**Mental**:

- Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions, including maintenance instructions.
- Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
