**Job description**:
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Teacher Certification in English/Language Arts (EC 6-12 certification)
- Three years of classroom teaching experience
- Preferred ESL Certification

**Skills**:

- Ability to teach to all skill levels
- Ability to facilitate instruction to multi-leveled students at the same time
- Ability to tailor activities and lesson plans to individual learners
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Ability to collect data and maintain student records
- Ability to identify issues promptly and offer alternative solutions

**Essential Functions**:

- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions _
- Serve on Secondary Literacy Leadership Team and assist with the development of a school-wide literacy plan for small group and individualized push-in and/or pull-out instructional services
- Assist teachers and staff in identifying the needs of individual students
- Provide direct and guided instruction to targeted students for a portion of each day in group or one-on-one sessions to meet the targeted needs of students who are reading below grade level
- Access and develop curriculum to provide individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of individual and small groups of students
- Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment that incorporates learning goals, self-confidence, and student ownership of learning
- Monitor student progress and maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth
- Actively engage with teachers to ensure seamless curriculum implementation that allows for students to transfer their learning from Tier 1 and Tier 2 MTSS literacy lessons back to their classroom work
- Maintain open and consistent communication about student progress, concerns, and achievement with students, families, and teacher colleagues
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and board policy
- Enforce School rules and policies
- Actively participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and improve student achievement.
- Use audiovisual aids, computers, and or other interactive technology to supplement and support lessons
- Keep up-to-date with current educational issues
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, accept responsibility, and the ability to be self-motivated
- Exemplify through manner, words, and dress the high standards and expected behavior of the school
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Compensation Rate: Pays up to $35 per hour
