**JOB TITLE **Fabrication Shop Helper

**REPORTS TO **Fabrication Shop Manager

**Position Summary**

Cutting, grooving, and threading steel pipe for fire sprinkler systems. No experience necessary.

**Accountabilities/Responsibilities**

1. Assists with Fab Shop opening, turning on machines, opening up doors, etc.

2. Stocks pipe needed for the day at the welding stations.

3. Cuts and labels pipe according to Hydralist.

4. Performs threading and grooving of pipe, and makes on fittings as listed.

5. Check for correct groove and thread depth as instructed. Make adjustments as needed.

6. Bundles the completed pipe and stages for truck loading.

7. Organizes shorter pieces into bags for specific jobs and labels them by line.

8. Performs spot checks on welds and fittings, grinds and corrects if needed.

9. Paint welded outlets after inspection.

10. Assists with Fab Shop closing, turning off machines, turning off gas supply, etc.

11. Performs housekeeping/cleaning duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Minimum Qualifications

Ø High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ø Familiarity with Fabrication shop product & procedures preferred.

Ø Experience in grooving & threading preferred.

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to safely lift and handle material weighing up-to 75 pounds.
- Able to stand on hard surfaces for prolonged periods of time.
- Must wear eye protection, gloves, and face mask as needed.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift or pallet jack.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 60 per week
