**Overview**:
Amalga Composites is a rapidly growing small specialty manufacturing company seeking a skilled Shipping Inspector / Packer to join our production team and support the company’s growth. This position is the finishing department.

As a Shipping Inspector / Packer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely shipment of our products to customers. You will be responsible for inspecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment, following established quality standards, lean principles, and ISO 9001:2015 guidelines. This role requires strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, knowledge of inspection methods, and the ability to handle heavy objects.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Product Inspection**: Perform detailed visual and physical inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- **Packing and Labeling**: Safely and efficiently pack products into appropriate containers, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for shipment.
- **Quality Compliance**: Maintain a strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards and ensure compliance with company quality policies.
- **Lean Principles**: Implement lean principles to optimize packaging and shipping processes, minimize waste, and improve efficiency.
- **Computer Skills**: Utilize computer systems and software for inventory management, order tracking, and documentation.
- **Heavy Lifting**: Safely lift and move heavy objects, adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.
- **Inventory Management**: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conduct periodic cycle counts as required.
- **Team Collaboration**: Collaborate with colleagues in the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate shipment schedules and resolve any discrepancies.
- **Documentation**: Complete shipping and inspection documentation accurately and maintain records as per company policies.
- **Safety**: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, packing, or quality inspection is preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards and quality management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality.
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software for data entry and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methods.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to [Specify weight] pounds.
