**Job Summary**

The Surgery Center at Westpark Administrator (“Administrator”) will provide focused leadership for all aspects of ambulatory surgical services at the Surgery Center at Westpark in a dyad structure with the Surgery Center at Westpark Medical Director. This position provides leadership for the overall strategic direction, business development, performance improvement, physician collaboration, market influence, market share growth, patient experience and operations. Reporting to the Board of Managers, this position will work closely with the executive leadership team to ensure that the strategies, priorities, and operations of all facilities are aligned and complementary, ensuring a system approach to ambulatory surgical services. The incumbent shall continuously exemplify the mission, values, and customer service philosophy of Surgery Center at Westpark in job performance and in relationship to others.

**Education and Experience**

The ASC Administrator must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of administration of the ASC and will maintain a high level of performance while providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of the ASC’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives. The incumbent must have:

- Minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare with at least 3 years of progressive management or the equivalent and experience with change management, and clinical care delivery.
- Prior experience managing an ambulatory surgery center is required.
- An advanced degree in health or business administration (e.g., MBA), nursing (e.g., MSN) or a combination of education and/or equivalent experience specifically relevant to the primary accountabilities of the position required.
- Strong financial, operational and communication skills.
- Experience with AAAHC Accreditation.
- Experience with running/managing hospital-physician joint venture arrangements.
- Lean six sigma principles working in a highly complex, integrated health system preferred.

**Responsibilities and Expectations**

All duties delegated by the Board of Managers with an emphasis on the following:
Business Operations
- Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the owners with development of long range and annual plans for the ASC, and the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans.
- Directs and supervises the development and implementation of a comprehensive growth strategy for the ASC, in accordance with the owners’ vision and timeline to ensure the long-term financial viability of the ASC.
- Develops operating and capital budgets, and monitors revenues/expenses for scope of operations.
- Collaborates with marketing on the focus and implementation of annual communication and marketing plan.
- Develops and maintains written operational policies and procedures for the ASC and oversees enforcement of these policies and procedures with appropriate stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with government agencies and regulations, as applicable to the surgery center.
- Manages contracts and service agreements associated with the ASC.
- Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
- Monitors and reports on operational metrics and trends, informs owners on the condition of the facility and important factors influencing it.
- Holds routine meetings with owners and upper-level management to ensure that: the owners are kept abreast of activities taking place within the ASC. Maintains an effective method of communicating between management and owners, and that strategies are consistent with owners’ objectives, and maintains minutes of such meetings.
- Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the ASC.
- Always ensures a high level of cleanliness in the ASCs. Takes steps to ensure the physical plant components of the surgery center are continuously in peak operating condition.

Personnel Administration
- Promotes a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity.
- Manages personnel and their performance to ensure that assigned duties are completed in a timely fashion consistent with practice standards.
- Holds routine meetings with ASC staff outlining goals, priorities, and performance of the facility.
- Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure that staffing needs are met, ensure that job descriptions are developed, and that regular performance evaluations are held.
