**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Spaces stop gauge along calibrated scale, according to length of cut specified, and tightens setscrew to secure gauge in position.
- Places single or multiple layers of material on bed of machine with edges against stop gauge or moves lever to advance material in bed of machine against stop gauge.
- Depresses pedal to activate lever type blade that lowers and cuts material.
- Tends machine that trims excess material or irregular edges from variety of materials or garment and shoe parts.
- Stacks lengths of material on table or in hand garytruck.
- Changes blade.
- Accurately uses tape measurer.
- Other duties assigned.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**TECHNICAL SKILLS**:

- **LANGUAGE SKILLS**:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- **PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand. The individual frequently is required to walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
- **WORK ENVIRONMENT**:While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
