Responsibilities: The Commissioner serves as the chief administrative officer of the Conference. It is the obligation of the Commissioner to administer all duties and responsibilities as determined by the Constitution and Bylaws, and as requested by the Presidents Council and Athletic Directors Council. The Commissioner shall manage the Conference office and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and NCAA requirements. The Commissioner is responsible for oversight of all championships sponsored by the LEC. The Commissioner is tasked with LEC meeting logistics, including issuing the calls for meetings, preparing agendas, and distributing and retaining meeting minutes. The selected individual will serve as the primary financial contact for the Conference, and will prepare and manage annual budgets for review and approval; issue invoices; manage Conference payroll, health insurance and retirement; cultivate an ongoing program of revenue generation; pursue and disburse NCAA grants; and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The Commissioner will keep all records of the Little East Conference and work with appointed individuals to develop conference schedules, update sport codes, assist in the development and enforcement of conduct codes, and review and update applicable policies. The Commissioner will supervise other personnel within the Conference Office and is responsible for preparing evaluations for those individuals.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred, with a minimum of five years’ experience in collegiate athletics. Conference office experience is desired. The selected visionary leader will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, administrative acumen including proven managerial experience, and experience in creating and managing budgets.
