**Job Summary**
- Are you interested in working over the summer in any capacity? The Operations Assistant program can be your next summer job as we help numerous departments on campus over the summer From wrapping up the semester with key assessments in Residence Life, painting rooms for Facilities Management, or doing building rounds for Campus Safety, you could be a perfect fit for various tasks as an Operations Assistant over the summer. Only can work during the day? Help us out with changing air filters Only can work in the evenings? Help us out with building inspections during night rounds Have summer vacation plans? No worries The OA program is willing to adapt to your schedule provided prior communication and proper planning around jobs. **An extended vacation of two weeks or more will induce a deeper conversation about an OA position over the summer.**
- You will be trained/given prior instruction before doing any task as an OA.
- This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Here are some shifts and tasks we are looking to have OAs doing over the summer:

- Facilities (9:30am - 3:00pm)
- Assisting Facilities Management with some of the following:

- PAINTING: fully patching, touching up, and/or painting several residential dorms and offices across Susquehanna University.
- LANDSCAPING: blowing leaves, raking rocks, planting/watering flowers, pulling weeds, etc.
- FURNITURE MOVING: Moving furniture and prepping rooms to be painted over the summer, raising and lowering beds for camps, etc.
- HVAC: changing air filters in residential dorms and academic offices, reading water/electric meters, etc.
- CARPENTRY: putting up signage and other materials, removing closet doors, sorting keys with the locksmith, etc.
- Campus Safety (5pm - 8pm)
- Assisting the Office of Campus Safety with some of the following:

- SAFETY ROUNDS: daily safety rounds within buildings throughout the week with a focus on mold/leaks
- TRANSPORTS: On-campus student transports**
- Residence Life (9:30am - 2:30pm)
- Assisting the Office of Residence Life with some of the following:

- KEYS: manage the upkeep of key pulls for summer housing and fall semester, a thorough key assessment/inventory and reorganization, assist with rekey and key cards, etc.
- RA PREP: compiling RA supply boxes and bulletin board materials, helping with training materials, etc.
- HOUSEKEEPING: completing room condition reports for rooms across campus, cleaning out items left behind in rooms, transporting items to Hawk Stuff or trash, reorganizing Hawk Stuff, etc.
- INVENTORY: inventorying items within a room/suites/dorm/hall, inventorying classrooms, offices, and bike rooms within dorms, etc.
- OPTIONAL & OCCASIONAL TASKS: doing tours for Admissions, assisting the Office of Events Management, IT, the Mail & Print Shop, etc.
- We are looking for a team of four to five OAs to help with painting until painting is complete. OAs who are dedicated to painting will be paid at $11.00 an hour. If you are interested in this task, please bring it up in your interview
- **Golf cart certification would be required; OA would need a valid driver’s license and to complete basic training for this specific task.
**AFTER** **THE** **SUMMER***
- OAs hired over the summer have the option of continuing as an OA during the academic semester. It is not required that an OA who has worked over the summer work during the academic semester.
