Consulting and advising with senior leadership and key stakeholders to develop departmental and organizational goals.
- Delivering technical solutions to achieve goals within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Coordinating long-range planning activities for the technology infrastructure of the Glenstone campus, including administrative information systems, computer networks, personal computers, a/v systems, and voice communication systems.
- Developing plans and recommendations for enterprise-wide IT requirements across all departments.
- Assessing the strategic needs and upgrade requirements for IT Systems and hardware in collaboration with the Director of Engineering & Technology.
- Leading and managing all phases of the IT procurement process, including negotiating contracts, pricing, terms and service level agreements for technology purchases.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with technology vendors and suppliers.
- Maintaining core IT Systems and managed cloud services.
- Liaising with vendors to obtain technical expertise and support as required.
- Researching and identifying new software based on specific department and business requirements.
- Designing and planning network infrastructure that aligns with business needs, anticipates future growth, can scale accordingly.
- Monitoring the Glenstone network performance, identifying bottlenecks, latency issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Maintaining VPN, switches, structure cabling and wireless access points.
- Installing firmware and security patches as required.
- Responding to outages or performance degradation as required.
- Making changes to the network infrastructure when devices are added or removed.
- Assessing network requirements and making recommendations to manage risk and optimize current assets.
- Managing and maintaining all AV requirements.
- Training staff to use the available AV resources.
- Oversee help desk operations.
- Managing the information security vendor to provide incident management and vulnerability management.
- Clarifying roles and responsibilities for incident response.
- Responding promptly to incidents within agreed levels.
- Maintaining Glenstone’s information security awareness training and orchestrating simulated phishing campaigns.
- Oversee the preparation and management of substantial budgets and forecasts for IT services and architecture ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic financial planning.
- Responding on-site to after-hours emergencies.
- Extends himself/herself beyond the responsibilities of the job description when the need arises.
- COVID-19 vaccination and up to date on all boosters.
- Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or other similar discipline, or industry certifications in an IT discipline, or 10+ years of related work experience.
- Working knowledge of and experience with concepts of information security and best practices.
- Working knowledge of network communications technologies such as ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Working knowledge of network communication protocols and theory.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring methods and tools.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of the administration of Cisco network hardware including Firepower FTD, Catalyst switches, and Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers.
- Working knowledge of Audio/Visual equipment.
- Working knowledge of backup and recovery methods within a Veeam environment.
- Demonstrated competence supporting Local Area Networks (LAN), wireless LAN (WLAN), and Voice over IP (VoIP) environments and Internet of Things (IOT) devices.
- Practical understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI model).
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Mac OS operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server based computing environments and VMWare virtualized environments.
- Knowledge and experience with iOS and Android mobile devices.
- Demonstrated competence and experience administering various Microsoft services such as: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM), Power Automate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to clearly articulate a variety of issues to associates with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Demonstrates effective customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Develop a strong sense of responsibility for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of all systems.
