- **Position**:_

Tech International is looking for a Stream Inspector to help facilitate water and sewer pipeline projects in and around streams and parklands in Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) Montgomery County and Prince George’s County service areas.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Performs environmental monitoring services to coordinate planning, design and construction of environmental issues related to water and sewer facilities within Prince George’s County.
- Conduct daily inspections on water/sewer construction projects to ensure compliance with construction documents, permits, and other contract requirements.
- Minimize and mitigate impacts to streams and parklands due to the rehabilitation of the sewer facilities, as required by the Consent Decree between WSSC and Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE).
- Act as liaison between Parks, County, and WSSC.
- Ensure rehabilitation work is done to protect natural resources in County parks.
- Assist WSSC in problem identification, evaluation, and resolution of environmental impacts to parklands.
- Assist WSSC in observing the construction related activities for general compliance with the parks permits.
- Report findings to WSSC and Chief Construction for Park Development Division.
- **Other Functions**:_
- Provide environmental services for WSSC design review and inspection of any construction related projects for maintenance and rehabilitation of WSSC water/sewer infrastructures located primarily in Prince George’s or Montgomery County Parks.
- Design process/duties may include attending various meetings with design consultants in which environmental design issues (e.g., parks access, restoration, mitigations, fish and wildlife passage, drainage, and storm water management) are discussed and reviewed; coordinate and participate in review meetings with M-NCPPC staff and WSSC staff or consultants; and communicate staff comments and concerns to WSSC consultants.
- Inspection duties include conducting routine field inspections of construction activities, with the purpose of meeting mínimal impact requirements to adjacent parkland and other natural resources. The field visits will include inspecting the Limit of Disturbance (LOD), erosion and sediment control measures, tree protection areas, wetland protection areas, water quality monitoring devices, etc.
- Coordinate and communicate significant findings with WSSC Staff/consultants and M-NCPPC staff to facilitate project requirements and design goals.
- **Requirements**:_
- Associate Degree in engineering or construction technology or other related technical field and four years of progressively responsible construction inspection experience, or
- Six years of progressively responsible experience in construction inspection.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Experience with Erosion and Sediment Control practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- General experience with environmental issues and practices.
- Experience with stream restoration and storm water management projects.
- Experience with wetland and forest impacts.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
