Overview:
**Registered Nurse (RN) CARES Partial Care Program**

**30 Hours Weekly (4 days Monday through Thursday OR 6 hours Monday through Friday from 8A-2P)**

**Population: Children & adolescents**

**Location: Capital Health at 601 Hamilton Avenue Trenton NJ**

**MUST have a BSN.**

**MUST have an NJ Registered Nurse license.**

**Experience working with children.**

**Responsibilities**:

- An integral member of the health care team, assists in coordinating patient care and communicates and collaborates with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family/guardian.
- Shall provide patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services.
- The BSN will perform nursing histories and physical assessments.
- Participates in daily treatment team meeting, and attends other program meetings.
- Demonstrates standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
- Facilitate patients and families in meeting their psychosocial needs.
- Assist with pre-authorization of medications for the program.
- Certified in the _Handle With Care_ behavior management system.
- Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
- Subject to the bylaws and operating decisions of Virtua Health.

Qualifications:

- A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated and cognitive skills is required.
- The BSN shall be a registered nurse licensed in the State of New Jersey.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
- Two years experience working with children.
- Shall be involved in continuing education activities to further his/her own professional development.
