**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Oculoplastics Scribe to join our team. The primary role of the scribe is to support the oculoplastic surgeon by accurately documenting patient encounters, managing medical records, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows. This position is crucial in providing high-quality patient care and maintaining efficient clinical operations.

**Locations**:Whittier, Pasadena, Pomona, will require traveling and following the doctor.

**Full Time Position**: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri; hours 8:30a to 5:00p

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Clinical Documentation**: Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including history, physical exam, assessment, and plan in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- **Medical Records Management**: Ensure all patient records are up-to-date, organized, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- **Assist with Procedures**: Provide support during oculoplastic procedures by preparing the examination room, sterilizing instruments, and assisting with minor surgical tasks as needed.
- **Patient Interaction**: Greet patients, obtain and document patient histories, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- **Coordination of Care**: Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care, including scheduling follow-up appointments and communicating with other healthcare providers as needed.
- **Administrative Support**: Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents, as well as managing correspondence and phone calls.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- **Education and Training**: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with medical terminology, clinical practices, and EMR systems.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical scribe training program preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is highly desirable. Experience in oculoplastics or ophthalmology is a plus.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other medical software. Strong typing and data entry skills.
- **Communication**: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- **Attention to Detail**: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documenting clinical information.
- **Organizational Skills**: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.
- **Professionalism**: Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Demonstrate a commitment to patient care and confidentiality.

**Work Environment**:

- The role requires working in a clinical environment, with exposure to patient care areas.
- May require standing for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting and moving of medical supplies and equipment.
