**Duties**:

- You will serve as an Architect in the Nuclear Engineering Planning Department, Nuclear Refueling Engineering Division in Kittery, Maine.
- You will provide professional architectural services for facilities maintenance, sustainment, repair, and maintenance projects on existing Dry Dock facilities and for the construction of new facilities.
- You will conduct facility assessment, interpret customer requirements, and provide architectural analysis and evaluations of proposed projects and make recommendations for facility use, modifications, repairs, and maintenance.
- You will coordinate architectural design (e.g. drawings, specifications, and technical scope of work) with engineering disciplines for Design Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.

**Qualifications**:
**GS-12**:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- **Experience reading and interpreting preliminary design drawings, diagrams, specifications, and other technical publications from site visits**
- **Experience preparing and reviewing complete architectural plans and specifications for a variety of projects**:

- **Experience writing technical work documents and preparing nuclear work instructions for execution by shop personnel**

**GS-11**:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- **Experience assisting with reading and interpreting preliminary design drawings, diagrams, specifications, and other technical publications from site visits**
- **Experience assisting with preparing and reviewing complete architectural plans and specifications for a variety of projects**:

- **Experience assisting with writing technical work documents and preparing nuclear work instructions for execution by shop personnel**- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

**Education**:
**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.

- _Related Curriculum:_ Degree in architectural engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full the basic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in paragraph A. The curriculum for a degree in either architecture or architectural engineering covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities. The courses required for a degree in architecture generally place emphasis upon planning, esthetics, and materials and methods of construction, while the courses for an architectural engineering degree place equal or greater weight on the technical engineering aspects such as structural systems, mechanical systems, and the properties of materials. Because of this difference in emphasis, persons with degrees in architecture may have a preference for work assignments that offer greater opportunities
