Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Inspection Division, Office of Security Programs.

This position primary responsible for the oversight, implementation and monitoring of DEA background investigations/re-investigations, national security clearances, suitability, public trust access approvals, continuous evaluation/continuous vetting, medical evaluations, Homeland Security Presidential-12 credentialing, contract security reviews and self-reporting compliance.

As a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist your typical work assignments may include:
Ensuring that the work of the section/unit employees complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets DEA or
customer needs.
Serving as technical authority in the due process for the adjudication of background investigations for security
clearances.
Planning, directing, and controlling the allocation and utilization of all authorized resources for execution of the personnel security mission.
Managing process improvements, maintaining liaison with senior management partners.

Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5 CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.

**Qualifications**:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 Federal grade level performing duties such as: 1) Overseeing work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments; 2) Implementing protocols for passing security clearances by providing other agencies with verification of a requesting employee's clearance level and certifying requests to pass security clearances from other agencies; 3) Managing the coordination of suitability, fitness and credentialing adjudication; and, 4) Responding to question regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
