**Position**: Buyer II

**Job Summary**:Buyer II is responsible for preparing and processing purchase orders for the procurement of inventory materials delivering to Echelon’s facilities or designated customer locations. This may include analyzing and selecting primary vendor sources, expediting delivery of due materials, calculating purchase quantities and order points, and other related responsibilities as directed by the Purchasing Manager.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Complete detailed daily review of the Recommend Purchase Order Report and analyze recommendations for conversion to new purchase orders
- Utilize available company resources to ensure purchase orders are issued for all needed materials
- Record and maintain supplier lead time and pricing
- Process internal requests for quotes (RFQ’s) and technical product information
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships while ensuring effective communication and documentation of purchase orders in process
- Negotiate and select vendors based on best fulfilment of customer requirements
- Analyze sales history and forecast information to establish effective order points and purchase quantities using Prelude
- Expedite purchased materials for prompt delivery to Echelon to ensure customer requirement fulfilment
- Assist Purchasing department with other project-related duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager

**Qualifications**:

- 4-year degree in Business or related field preferred
- Experience in or knowledge of Purchasing required
- Experience in working with MRP systems required
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Excel
- Knowledge of warehouse operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
