Description:
Verdugo Strategies is seeking a Political Assistant for the 2024 cycle. Position is based in Pasadena, CA and will report directly to the Principal. The Political Assistant will be responsible for supporting the administrative needs of the Principal, managing workflows, and coordinating with the administrative staff and their teams. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves politics and campaign work, and is interested in gaining direct experience working with voter contact programs and clients.

**Requirements**:
**Required Skills**:

- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects to completion
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to operate cross-departmentally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Mac, and Google apps (Excel, Pages, Sheets, Slides, etc)
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levels and operate cross-departmentally
- Some travel required

**Preferred Additional Skills**:

- Campaign CRMs like Voter Activation Network (VAN) or EveryAction
- Experience in event planning and coordinating vendors
- Prior political experience is not a requirement for this role, but is preferred

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Tracking client needs, program status, and timelines. The Political Assistant helps to ensure the workflows are organized, timely, and efficient.
- Coordinating calls and scheduling for the Principal.
- Managing multiple projects at a time at a fast pace.
- Administrative duties such as drafting agendas and note-taking during weekly meetings.
- Working with administrative staff to manage invoice and payment schedules
