**Duties**:
As an **IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) (Direct Hire)**, you will:

- Assist in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Support the implementation, and evaluation of the security program, including the implementation of security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the implementation of higher-level security requirements; participate in the assessment of new systems design methodologies; perform implementation activities; institute measures to ensure awareness and compliance; assist in reviewing proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks.

**Conditions of Employment**:
The official duty station for this position will be in **Washington, District of Columbia**. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

**Key Requirements**:

- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

**Qualifications**:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

**Specialized Experience**:For the **GS-14**, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the **GS-13** grade level in the Federal service**. **Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Providing cyber security project management to lead enterprise-wide cyber security project implementations to facilitate IT Security compliance; **AND**:

- Assessing new systems design and methodologies to improve security posture; leading and performing implementation activities, identifying the need for changes based on new security technologies or threats.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or** **volunteer service**. **One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have **IT-related experience** demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

- **Oral Communication** - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- **Problem Solving** - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
