:BRIDGES operates a variety of programs guided by the philosophy of Independent Living to provide services and supports for individuals with disabilities so that they may experience autonomy in all areas of living.

BRIDGES acts as a Fiscal Intermediary in a NY State Agency with Choice model, that allows people with disabilities to recruit, interview, hire, train and dismiss their own worker known as a Personal Assistant (PA). The CDPA Authorization Specialist holds primary responsibility for obtaining and maintaining insurance eligibility for Consumer Directed Personal Assistants services. The CDPA Authorization Specialist will communicate with insurance payers to monitor authorization of services and ensure that the authorization is current.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Associates preferred and/or three years paid or volunteer experience in Human Services or completion.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.; Treats people with respect, and sensitivity for cultural differences.
- Ability to interact with co-workers, clients, volunteers, and other agency staff, as well as the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain strong work ethic and strict adherence to code of ethics, standards of conduct, and confidentiality requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook Mail, Outlook Calendar, Excel, g-mail and g-docs
- Ability to become proficient on other software products as utilized by the position.
- Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Must be able to maintain solid documentation and record keeping.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and protects Agency operations by keeping information confidential and secure.
- Establishes and maintains a strong attention to detail, insuring work is accurate and complete, and adheres to all established deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, active listening, observation, analytical, problem-recognition and problem-solving skills.
- Enter insurance authorization and eligibility information into the agency database.
- Understanding of the process of reimbursements and guidelines for CDPA as prescribed in New York.
- Maintain relationships with management and insurance agencies.
- Screen and review authorization records for accuracy to ensure precise processing of CDPA services.
- Prepare and present narrative reports to management regarding lack of payer coverage.
- Work with the Finance department to investigate ineligibility and denials with insurance companies.
- Establish and maintain a strong attention to detail, ensuring work is accurate and complete, and adhere to all established deadlines.
- Obtain re-authorization and run eligibility checks in a timely manner.
- Communicate and document information regarding the change in authorization and eligibility to the CDPA team.
- Send informational correspondence both internally and to applicable payer.
- Demonstrate self-direction and the ability to prioritize and accomplish job responsibilities.
- All responsibilities for this position should be carried out with the Mission and Goals of the agency in mind; including interactions with people who come to us for assistance, members of the public, representatives from other agencies and county offices, as well as with co-workers in daily office functioning.
- Attend professional development (webinars, workshops, conferences, etc.) to advance knowledge on related programs/activities of the organization as requested by employee or the Director.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
