**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
Support level position, working under the supervision of an experienced Supervisor position. A mechanical assembler is responsible for putting together mechanical parts or pieces to create finished products or machinery. The job typically involves reading and interpreting blueprints or schematics, understanding assembly instructions, and using various hand tools and machinery to assemble components.

**Production Assembly**:
**Mechanical Assembly Specific tasks**:
Understanding of mechanical assemblies and functions, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic cabling installations for new builds. Ability to work on production assemblies, that require assembly then installation. Works with mínimal supervision and able to complete tasks given by supervisor in a timely manner. Ability to move sub assembly and assembly items of weight up to 55lbs with lifting aids.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Assemble mechanical components such as gears, bearings, shafts, and housings according to specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery (such as drills, saws, and presses) to complete assembly tasks.
- Have great attention to detail to ensure finished assemblies meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with assemblies or components as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize assembly processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Complete assembly tasks within established timeframes and deadlines.

**DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- Education: High School Diploma/GED. Post-secondary education and/or technical trade certificate is an asset.
- Experience: Two to three years experience in the function listed above.
- Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn.
- Skills/Competencies: Communicate effectively; work in a team environment or independently when needed
- Use of all hand /power tools effectively
- Ability to read blue printers / drawings
- Basic Automotive knowledge
- Volt meter functions

**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE**:

- Interacts with direct supervisor.
- Interacts across departmental boundaries.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
The employee will predominantly work indoors in the main production facility. From time to time will have to assist in the movement of vehicles within the lot area which requires outside work. Work may be performed at railroad sites and shops. Weather conditions may be extreme. Travel is expected to be 5%.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
