ROLE SUMMARY

The US Rheumatology and Gastroenterology Franchise is an exciting space within the Specialty Care Business, with four inline brands and significant opportunity ahead. These TAs are known for placing significant importance on manufacturer leadership, heightening the importance of our TLEL team.

The US Rheum & GI Thought Leader Engagement Team Lead will be responsible for enhancing our category leadership across Rheumatology and Gastroenterology by executing against an opinion leader strategy across therapeutic areas while leading and developing a team. The position will report directly to the VP, US Rheumatology & Gastroenterology Lead.

The Team Lead is responsible for leading the development of the organizational priority of establishing Pfizer as a leader within the Rheumatology and Gastroenterology specialties. Within the purview of this role will be:

- Lead a team of 4+ Thought Leader Engagement colleagues
- Owning the Thought Leader Engagement team’s execution against the strategic plan for building and advancing Pfizer reputation in the Rheum/GI space, with direct accountability for the execution of the Thought Leader plans in each TA.
- Establish Pfizer as a key partner in meeting shared goals of delivering value to patients and the healthcare system.
- Partner with Government Relations, Policy, Medical, and Commercial colleagues to support the development and advancement of plans.
- Lead the execution of the cross-therapeutic area engagement plan for national and regional thought leaders, as well as identification of future leaders within the TAs
- Aligning HCP interactions with Pfizer across regions and business units.
- Build the capability for nurturing long lasting relationships to enable our vision and aspiration of market leadership, especially as it relates to building a strong reputation
- Maintain a deep understanding of the TAs, including patient care, current and future molecules, guidelines, etc.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of operating procedures to ensure that all activities are consistent with Pfizer’s highest standards for compliance and integrity.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Team Lead serves as the functional lead and point of contact for customer engagement interactions, and as a face of Pfizer to external thought leaders in the United States. These responsibilities include:

- Lead a team of talented colleagues, consistently demonstrating a joyful, collaborative and people first mindset and supporting their development
- Leading the execution of the KOL strategy that yields optimal advocacy relationships with key customers and enables an “One Pfizer” experience for these thought leaders by ensuring all relevant functions are aware, consistent with their remit, of key activities with OLs
- In collaboration with medical, lead and direct compliant insight gathering among OLs including 1:1 engagements, small group meetings, and national and regional advisory boards to gather information for commercial teams to action
- Developing peer-level relationships with key opinion leaders and regional customers
- Engaging with key thought leaders and serve as their primary point of contact for marketing (in partnership with brand team)
- Identifying and executing approved strategic projects that support innovation and help meet key Pfizer objectives
- Uphold an unwavering commitment to compliance

QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA degree required; Advanced degree preferred with 15+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or diagnostic industry.
- Experience in Gastroenterology and Rheumatology preferred
- Prior experience leading a team required
- Prior experience engaging with key thought leaders in strategic capacity (Opinion Leader Relations, Marketing or Advocacy) strongly preferred
- Proven ability to build and maintain external and customer relations
- Understanding of commercial, brand and franchise needs, including relevant scientific, medical, economic and policy-related matters related to this therapeutic area
- Proven understanding of key trends in both internal and external environment
- Ability to work in a changing regulatory environment
- Sound judgment in critical decision making
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Highest level of commitment to Pfizer’s compliance culture.
