**Duties/Responsibilities**:
(Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.)

Installs, calibrates, maintains, analyzes and repairs various electronic and analytical equipment, industrial automation and control devices related to the operational control and monitoring of wastewater collections and treatment;
Installs, maintains, analyzes malfunctions, troubleshoots, repairs or replaces computerized, electromechanical, pneumatic control devices, radio telemetry units and instrument loops for wastewater treatment and conveyance systems;
Supports satisfactory performance of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems performing necessary adjustments and repairs;
Participates in the improvement of operations, decrease turnaround and streamlines work processes;
Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and installs process control systems;
Performs routine diagnostics and component level repair using specialized electronic, electrical and pneumatic test equipment;
Calibrates instrumentation and loops using manufacturer technical manuals, schematics and loop diagrams by using approved standards, solutions and methods;
Repairs, maintains and installs electromechanical, electronic, pneumatic and microprocessor based instrumentation;
Maintains, cleans, calibrates and logs all activities performed on permit required compliance monitoring equipment;
Modifies process controllers, components, wiring, configuration and firmware and submits changes according to established change management protocol;
Assists in the review of engineering drawings and control system specifications;
Documents work performed and equipment status in logs and work order database;
Fabricates and modifies structures for unique installations;
Stores, handles and disposes of hazardous materials;
Revises or modifies existing industrial process control and process visualization configurations using industrial automation and control software.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Knowledge of:

- principles, practices and techniques of physical measurement, mechanics, electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and mathematics in relation to industrial process control instrumentation, laboratory analytical equipment and classical and discrete control theory, terminology and systems;
- principles, practices and techniques in relations to industrial process safety, mitigation and control of potential hazards from stored energy, electrical equipment, confined spaces, wastewater, gases, chemicals, pressurized and/or energized equipment;
- equipment and tools used in the repair and maintenance of process control, radio based telemetry systems, electromechanical, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation components;
- operation, repair, maintenance, installation and calibration of process control systems, components and laboratory analytical equipment;
- industrial automation and control software, radio-based telemetry and industrial control networking;
- cybersecurity principals applied within industrial control systems (ICS);

Skill in:

- implementing program adjustments, repairing, maintaining, installing and calibrating process control related equipment and radio telemetry networking equipment;
- identifying control system or radio telemetry network problems;
- following verbal and written instructions;
- using hand and specialized tools and equipment in the calibration and repair of electronic and industrial process control components and radio telemetry equipment;
- reading and interpreting technical manuals, loop drawings and schematic diagrams;
- preparing schematic diagrams;
- following established protocols, SCADA standards and industry best practices;
- troubleshooting and repairing microprocessor based systems and components.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**(1) An Associate's degree or certificate for Direct Employment from an accredited college or vocational school in electronics technology instrumentation and process control **and** three years of experience in the maintenance and repair of analog and digital industrial control equipment, industrial electronic and test equipment or computer and peripheral equipment in an industrial, environmental or laboratory setting.**
