Department purpose

A&O Shearman is seeking a mid-level associate to join our Antitrust team in our New York or D.C. offices. The position involves dealing with all aspects of the US antitrust laws, including complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, unilateral conduct, cartel investigations, private litigations, and counseling.

Role purpose

Team

This individual will report directly to the New York and Washington, D.C. Antitrust partners. The Team also works closely with other partners, associates and staff both in the U.S. and abroad.

Role and responsibilities

Minimum requirements
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.
- Must be admitted, and in good standing, to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice; or must provide written confirmation as to ability to become admitted in that State or District.
- Previous antitrust experience

Preferred Requirements
- Analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage your time effectively.
- Class years 2021-2018.
