**Duties**:

- Serve as the AFC lead for Threat Mitigation, synchronizing with the Defense Security Enterprise, IC, and non
- traditional partners to protect technologies identified in the Critical Technologies Protection List (CPTL).
- Oversee the management of AFC CPTL, use the CPTL to prioritize foreign intelligence and counterintelligence (CI) activities in support of research technology protection efforts.
- Advise the Command on matters related to sensitive programs and security risks related supply chain risk management (SCRM) and the AFC research ecosystem.
- Incorporate security/protective measures into the early phases of research to include within the academia to mitigate risk of foreign exploitation of the Defense research ecosystem.
- Leverage CI and adversary threat information to prioritize protection/collection efforts to support safeguarding classified, unclassified controlled technical information or other sensitive information related to modernization/transformation efforts.
- Design and synchronize protection policies within AFC’s diverse portfolio of research programs by developing processes using a multi-layered and multi-disciplined approach to protect signature modernization efforts.
- Analyze intelligence related to adversarial threat intent on identifying Controlled Technical Information (CTI) and Critical Program Information (CPI).
- Collect, process, apply, evaluate and share threat information to support effective risk management to the research or technology in AFC's purview.
- Analyze, design, develop, integrate, evaluate, produce, and support program protection plans inherently reliant on multi discipline intelligence. Coordinate CI and HUMINT activities related to threat identification and mitigation.
- Promote cybersecurity best practices to increase protection efforts on funded research and technology programs. Identify problem areas, organizational trends, and significant program deficiencies and accomplishments.
- Liaise with personnel in other AFC directorates, in assigned and related fields and participates in interagency and inter-service meetings, conferences, panels and committees.
- Serves as the INFOSEC expert on policies and responsibilities and prescribes procedures for controlled unclassified information (CUI) throughout the AFC enterprise in accordance with regulatory requirements.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of counterintelligence, research technology protection risk mitigation framework methods and intelligence threat collection requirements as demonstrated by experience 1.) collaborating with affiliated science and technology (S&T) and organizational teams participating in critical technology research, capability and concept development, experimentation and acquisition; 2.) providing intelligence, CI and security assessments to support to planners, operators, and developers regarding the impact of emerging and potential future threats, capabilities, combat, and materiel development programs; and, 3.) advising on global security trends and potential future crises as they relate to intelligence threats aimed at modernization and/or research technology protection efforts.
